About the role
Hays Education is recruiting Qualified Science Teachers (QTS) to work on a supply basis across a range of secondary schools in Bristol and the surrounding areas. We are seeking enthusiastic teachers specialising in Biology, Chemistry or Physics who can deliver high-quality lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. Opportunities for KS5 teaching are available in some placements.We support schools with:
- Day-to-day Science cover
- Short-term block work
- Long-term Science roles, including Easter and September starts

As a Science Supply Teacher, you will:
- Teach Biology, Chemistry, Physics or general Science across KS3-KS4
- Deliver engaging practical and theory lessons
- Maintain a safe, well-managed classroom environment
- Follow schemes of work and ensure consistency for students
- Adapt quickly to different schools, labs and departmental processes
- Support student progress, curiosity and scientific thinking
Long-term placements may include planning, marking, assessments and contributing to department life.What you'll need to succeed
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Strong subject knowledge in Science (any discipline)
- Experience teaching in a UK secondary school (ECT placements accepted)
- Strong behaviour management and confident practical lesson delivery
- The right to work in the UK
- An Enhanced DBS, or willingness to obtain one
- A flexible, positive approach to supply work
- ECTs encouraged to apply
