Tutor (English, Maths, Science & ESOL) – Birmingham
Location: Birmingham and surrounding areas
Contract: Part-Time / Flexible Hours
Pay: £25 per hour (higher rates available for small group tuition)
Start Date: Immediate / Ongoing
We are seeking passionate and reliable Tutors to deliver high-quality, personalised tuition across Birmingham. This role involves supporting school-aged pupils and young adults in English, Maths, Science, or ESOL.
You will assess learners’ needs, design tailored lesson plans, and deliver engaging sessions that promote measurable academic progress and confidence. Tutors with QTS or CELTA/TEFL qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver structured and engaging sessions in your specialist subject
Develop tailored lesson plans aligned to learner goals
Assess starting points and monitor ongoing progress
Support learners with varied academic and social-emotional needs
Provide clear feedback to parents, schools, and stakeholders
Maintain accurate records of sessions and outcomes
Background in education, teaching, tutoring, or youth work
Strong lesson planning and assessment skills
QTS preferred; CELTA/TEFL required for ESOL roles
Excellent communication and organisational abilities
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain)
Competitive £25 per hour rate (uplift for group sessions)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
