Maths Tutor – Part Time (6 Hours per Week)

Immediate Start | Long-Term to July 2026 | Potential Permanent Opportunity
Teaching Personnel are working closely with a mainstream secondary school in Poole to appoint a dedicated and supportive Maths Tutor. This is a highly rewarding role working one-to-one with a very able Year 7 pupil who has been out of school and now requires tailored academic support to re-engage with learning.
The successful tutor will deliver 6 hours per week, primarily focusing on Maths, with the opportunity to also support Science if able. The role is available for an immediate start and is expected to run long-term until the end of July 2026, with the potential to become permanent should it be the right fit for both the tutor and the school.
The Role:One-to-one tutoring for one Year 7 pupil
6 hours per week (flexible scheduling where possible)
Teaching KS3 Maths, with some KS4 Maths knowledge beneficial
Opportunity to also support Science
Creating engaging, confidence-building sessions tailored to the pupil’s needs
Supporting reintegration into structured learning
Mainstream secondary school based in Poole
Supportive environment with a strong pastoral focus
Committed to inclusive education and student wellbeing
Qualified teacher, tutor, or graduate with strong Maths subject knowledge
Ability to support Science is desirable but not essential
ECTs are very welcome to apply
Patient, encouraging, and adaptable teaching style
Experience working one-to-one or with pupils outside of mainstream settings is advantageous

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
